Sex Trafficking: How Can We Make It Stop? Introduction Sex trafficking is a problem that is happening and occurring all over the world. Many families and individuals suffer due to sex trafficking. Many people are not even aware of what it really is. Sex trafficking is when young girls, as young as five or six, get kidnapped and are used for the sexual pleasure of others with a profit, or are sold as sex slaves to other people. The official definition is, â€Å"Human sex trafficking is a form of slavery and involuntary servitude resulting in grave human rights violations. Sex trafficking involves individuals profiting from the sexual exploitation of others and has severe physical and psychological consequences for its victims.† (The†¦show more content†¦They live their lives as sex slaves, and die at a really early age, because their lives are miserable with lack of food and nutrition and major drug consumption. Usually the owner or the person who controls the sex trafficking gets the people he has kidnapped hooked on drug s, to make sure these women and children and even men sometimes not to resist. If they do try to escape, they get punished by a beating or just get killed instantly. Research Findings When a person thinks of sex trade, or sex trafficking, or human trafficking, they are often not informed of the numbers and rates that this crime is happening in. Looking at how many people have their freedom taken away daily is ridiculous. The main cause for sex trafficking in Russia is immigration and bad economy. The main cause to any crime is bad economy. For example if there is food shortage anywhere, people turn to theft and stealing. Human trafficking is a great source of profit.
